An important oil on canvas entitled Le Sommeil de Diane that Andr\u00e9 Planson will present at the Salon des Ind\u00e9pendants from March 2 to April 2, 1945 (handwritten mention on the back, as well as the trademark L. Besnard Lefranc)<\/p>\n
Our painting shows Diana the Huntress lying naked on her back with a crescent in her hair and a bow and quiver at her side, another young woman resting next to her in a pretty blue dress, in the woods a little hidden a hunter is watching the young women and at the bottom of the wood a hunt seems to be taking place. A lot of symbolism for this excellent painter who offers us a painting using an interesting color palette. He offers us his definition of Poetic Reality.<\/p>\n
Our painting in very good condition, on its original canvas in a beautiful gilt wood frame. It is signed in the lower left corner by Andr\u00e9 Planson. Mrs Marie-Dominique Planson daughter of the painter confirmed the authenticity of this work.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 \u00c9mile Planson is a French painter born on 1 April 1898 in La Fert\u00e9 sous Jouarre and died on 29 September 1981 in Neuilly sur Seine.<\/p>\n
Biography:<\/b><\/p>\n
After receiving advice from Paul Mesle, a local painter, he attended the Ranson Academy (1917-1919) in Paris. With Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christine Caillard, Roger Limouse and Raymond Legueult, he formed the group of Painters of Poetic Reality. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts (1960).<\/p>\n
The works of this artist are mainly kept in the Andr\u00e9 Planson Museum in La Fert\u00e9-sous-Jouarre.<\/p>\n
Pierre Mac-Orlan devoted an essay to him.<\/p>\n
