An elegant and decorative rod-shaped chandelier in the Louis XVI style, in finely chiseled and gilded bronze featuring a beautiful decoration of cut and molded white crystal, formed of descending octagons, plaquettes, basins and numerous rosettes and ending with a large and original cut crystal ball.<\/p>\n

Our chandelier is lit by twenty-four arms of light on three levels.<\/p>\n

The chandelier is in good original condition, with beautiful gilding. It is professionally wired for electricity, European standards, and the possibility of setting to the American standard on request.<\/p>\n

In 1764, French King Louis XV granted Louis-Joseph de Montmorency-Laval, Bishop of Metz, permission to establish a glassworks in the Lorraine village of Baccarat.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In 1824, Isma\u00ebl Robinet, a Baccarat glassmaker, invented an air-piston pump that facilitated glassblowing. The following year, Baccarat developed the press-molded technique.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In 1855, Baccarat took part in the first Paris Universal Exhibition, exhibiting two monumental candelabras and a chandelier.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In 1860, on October 29, Baccarat registered its trademark with the Paris Commercial Court: a carafe, a stemmed glass and a beaker inscribed in a circle. Initially printed on a paper label, the stamp was later engraved directly onto the piece.<\/p>\n
