Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg was a French painter born in Draveil on September 29, 1833. He died on October 27, 1904, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.<\/p>\n

Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg was the son of Austrian painter Karl Joseph Kuwasseg, with whom he took his first steps as an artist.<\/p>\n
A pupil of Jean-Baptiste Durand-Bragger and Eug\u00e8ne Isabey, Charles E. Kuwasseg abandoned painting for a time to become a long-distance sailor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He specialized in landscapes, following in the spirit of the Barbizon School.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Kuwasseg's favorite subjects were the ports of Brittany and Normandy, the North Sea, and Alpine villages.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He collaborated with Th\u00e9ophile Poilpot on various series of paintings.<\/p>\n From 1855 onwards, Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon, where he won numerous awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He later became an art teacher, whose pupils included \u00c9mile Clarel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With his perfect mastery of contrast and exceptional finesse, Charles E.
