A magnificent and rare commode circa 1700, with a curved front opening to four drawers on three rows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our chest of drawers features superb inlaid walnut, thuja, ash, sycamore, elm, and ebony fillets. The wooden top is richly inlaid with scrolls, with a medallion bust in the center. The rounded jambs are richly inlaid with medallions in the shape of a reserve, fleur-de-lys, and stylized letters, and feature straight legs. The drawers are inlaid with scrolls and ducal crowns in filleted frames. The sides are inlaid with geometric figures of helices and lozenges. The apron is inlaid with a monogram, certainly an indication of the commode's owner around 1700.
