French Directoire style Green Lacquered Beech Armchair called Bergere late 19th-Century 

Description:

A refined green lacquered beech Bergere, retaining their original lacquer. The armchair feature rear sabre legs and front "Jacob" legs. The carved connecting blocks, equipped with scrapers, support baluster-shaped uprights. Their generous seat and reclined backs make them both comfortable and elegant piece.

This work dates from the very late 19th century. The armchair, in good used condition, is upholstered in a decorative Toile de Jouy fabric, the "Crespière" pattern by Pierre Frey.
